Calipe Chong and his supply chain management enterprise of Vipo Asia have been instrumental in my business ventures with mainland China and also my general understanding of the East Asia and the South East Asia market places.
I first started doing business with China in 2008-9 when my family and I began promoting South American wines in the Beijing market place. My company was met with many challenges. This included finding the right buyers, navigating the import/ export policies and financing the business deals. After careful consideration, I decided to change fields.
In 2010 I relocated to Shanghai I began to explore new business opportunities between China and Latin America. Vipo Asia assisted me in various fields of import/ export.
- They helped my Peruvian based company Link Sino Latino SAC establish business ties with Chinese companies interested in selling LED lighting equipment to Peru.
- Later Vipo Asia fostered a relationship between a Singaporean Water Desalination company and Link Sino Latino SAC. We presented various projects to the Peruvian Government for the installation of desalination plants along the Peruvian Coast.
- Outside of Peru, Vipo Asia also helped me personally explore business opportunities in Uruguay and Mexico.
o In Uruguay we created partnerships with Precious Stone exporters of Amethyst and Agate which we promoted in the Chinese market. Also beef and sheep meat exporters – pitching their meat products to the Chinese market.
o In Mexico we developed relations with Sea Cucumber aqua farms and promoted their products in the Chinese market.
All in all, without Vipo Asia, neither I nor my company in Peru would have made the inroads into the Chinese and East-Asian market places we did between 2010-2013.
